Judd Trump completed something his career was missing last week in Belgium – successfully defending his European Masters title.

Having won the title last year in Romania by beating Ronnie O’Sullivan 9-7, this time he regained it in Lommel in Belgium against fellow Essex player – Stuart Bingham.

Trump, struggled at times throughout the tournament, until he reached the semi-final stage where he turned in a great performance to win 6-1.

Bingham, who defeated Trump in last season’s Welsh Open final, came into the final by beating world no.1 Mark Selby.

An edgy first session see the Basildon cueist let slip a 2 frame advantage as they went into the evening session at 4-4.

The evening session came into its own with first Bingham making a 130, swiftly followed by a Trump counter with 107.

At 7-7, Trump made the move taking the next to go one frame away from the title, before sealing it with 107.

Last month, Ding Junhui, won the World Open by beating Kyren Wilson 10-3 in Yushan, China.

The tour moves on to Barnsley with the first of the Home Nations events – The English Open.

If one player manages to win all 4 events; English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh, they will be guaranteed £1 million pounds bonus from the sponsors and world snooker in completely what would be an amazing achievement.

The holder of the English Open title is Liang Wenbo who defeated Trump in last season’s final in Manchester.
