The 2016 RBS 6 Nations launched on Wednesday at the Hurlingham Club with all six captains.
Vern Cotter spoke to the captains on stage and at the end asked Dylan Hartley about the importance of leading by example. The England captain has been under fire for spending 54 weeks of his career banned for on-field offences.
“Everyone else got to talk about their teams, but we get to talk about me,” came the England captain’s response.
Welsh captain, Sam Warburton spoke about his return from injury and the injuries suffered by team mates during last year’s Rugby World Cup campaign.
'It's good to be back fit,' he said, “Luckily we've come back and there's only a few of the guys missing.”
New man on the block Ireland captain Rory Best, spoke about his hopes to restore pride in Irish rugby after none of their four areas made the quarter-finals of the Champions Cup.
England start the tournament going up against Scotland. “It's an unbelievable game to start with,” said Scots Captain Greig Laidlaw.
