The Australian music industry celebrated the 30th anniversary of the ARIAs in Sydney on Wednesday night local time.
The first awards ceremony took place in 1987 with the likes of INXS, Crowded House and John Farnham taking the honours. Fast forward 30 years to the 2016 ceremony and Crowded House feature once again in the ARIAs Hall of Fame .
Other winners include:
Best Group: Violent Soho - WACO
Breakthrough Artist: Montaigne - Glorious Heights
Song of the Year: Troye Sivan - Youth
Best Video: Troye Sivan - Youth (Acoustic version)
Best Live Act: Hilltop Hoods - The Restrung Tour
No awards ceremony is complete without the red carpet run down - Swedish singer Tove Lo wore what is being dubbed as the 'uterus dress' - an orange sheer dress with a print of the female reproductive system on the front. British singer Charlie XCX wore a short white dress which some may say was possibly too short as she flashed her bum cheeks as she walked away. Sophie Monk left little to the imagination with just sequins covering her boobs and Jess Mauboy rocked up in what can only be described as a 'Marmite' dress - you either love it or hate it - there ain't no inbetween!
