Ryan Reynolds set to play Connor MacLeod in the new Highlander film

Green Lantern failed to make Ryan Reynolds the action star that someone, somewhere so desperately wants him to be, so he’s going to have another stab at it.
People Magazine’s sexiest man alive 2010 has been cast in the role of Connor MacLeod in the planned reboot, studio Lionsgate announcing his selection today.
28 Days Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo will be in charge of the project and more of the cast will be announced during the coming weeks.
The original Highlander was released in 1986 and starred Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery.
The film depicts the climax of an ages-old battle between immortal warriors, depicted through interwoven past and present day storylines. It became a cult hit, largely credited with launching Lambert’s career.
Queen provided most of the music for the movie.
