Aussie wit Clive James refuses to comment on Leanne Edelstens' eight year affair claim

Clive James has refused to comment on allegations that he had an affair with Miss Edelsten, who has taken to television to tell her story.

James, who has been battling leukemia since 2010, said: “I am quite ill, I have nothing to say except ‘no comment’”.

Leanne Edelston and Clive james’ affair is alleged to have begun in 2004, two years before james moved out of his marital home.

Edelston is understood to have taken to Australian TV and disclosed their affair before it was outed elsewhere.

“We had an instant attraction” Edelston said. “I don’t know whether it’s got to do with experience, intelligence… he’d leave men half his age for dead.”

She also went on to say that the two had nicknames for each other: Mr Wolf and Miss Hood.
