Destination Guide :: Queensland - Destination Guide

From the bright Great Barrier Reef - one of the seven wonders of the world - to the cheesy glitz of the Surfers Paradise and everything in between, there are many breathtaking sights in Queensland. No doubt on your list of places to visit will be Cairns, the Whitsundays and Fraser Island, but the Sunshine State has muc more to offer than just these popular destinations. Visit Rockhamption for a real Aussie cowboy (or 'jackaroo' as they're called here) experience. Learn to surf at the easy breaking waves of Noosa Heads and then take your skills to the Gold Coast, the likes of Burleigh Heads, Greenmount and Kelly Slater's favourite break – Kirra Point. Visit the capital, Brisbane, who's population is 1.8m of the 3.6 living in Queensland. Once sarcastically nicknamed Bris-Vegas, because nothing much happened, Brisbane has grown into its name over the past decade and a half and is one of Australia's most liveable cities.
